In the first program of the new series of the BBC's Gardener's World program, Monty Don (our new host), introduced us to the new garden. It included a large area in which he said the team would be creating a large wildlife pond.

In a live web-chat after the show, Monty said that the pond would be "a wildlife pond with a lot of marginal plants". He continued, "I'm very excited about it, but it wont be until the end of summer; well early September".

In answer to a separate question, Monty indicated that the program would include plenty of wildlife gardening features.
